RETURN POLICY
On Store items: A full refund, minus shipping charges, within 30 days of your receiving of the item with an abode receipt. Store credit without a receipt. Custom order items are not returnable after the order has been placed. A 33 1/3 restocking fee may be applied on returns after 30 days of sale.
Original Art: Return requests are accepted within three days of receipt of the item, unless special arrangements are made at time of sale. Please notify us within those three days to arrange the return of the item. Original Art is not returnable after that point.
If you have lost or otherwise misplaced your receipt, we may be able to locate our copy of it with some help on your part, but we cannot guarantee that you will receive the full purchase price without the receipt.
If the item you have received is damaged, the wrong item was shipped, the item is not functioning or is dramatically different (see handmade artworks and gifts below) than the description of what you ordered, we will accept the return within 30 days of your receiving of the item with the receipt and a full refund including shipping charges will be given. For other returns, a refund of the price of the piece, not including shipping, will be given. Return shipping charges are the the responsibility of the returning party.
SHIPPING AND DELIVERY
Since many of our items are one of a kind and change often, we have found that a policy of shipping based on a percentage of the price (currently 10%) to be consistently close to actual costs. Large pieces, furniture and art work requiring special handling may incur additional costs. We will inform you of those costs before shipping. Delivery of furniture is available in the Twin Cities/ Rochester/Eau Claire/La Crosse/Winona and Lake Pepin areas. Shipping of furniture is available out side our delivery area. Actual delivery and extra shipping charges will be determined and billed separately.
Currently, online orders can be shipped to anywhere in the United States. For orders outside the U.S., please give us a call or email us to place your order. (Do not send a credit card number through email as it is not secure for such sensitive information. We can make other arrangements by phone or email.)
ARTWORK AVAILABILITY
We offer many one-of-a-kind items which are often on display in our gallery as well as on our web site. In the event a unique artwork is simultaneously purchased both in the gallery and via the web site, or the artwork becomes unavailable for any other reason, we will contact you and resolve the situation as soon as possible. A full refund will be credited to your account if there is no other item you wish to purchase.
HAND-MADE ARTWORKS AND GIFTS
Everything we carry is made by an artist’s hands and, therefore, is subject to slight variations in color, style, size and shape.
ARTWORK COMMISSIONS, CUSTOM ORDERS AND SPECIAL ORDERS
We would be happy to create custom works of art, furniture and other items for you or to bring in other works by our artisans and fine artists that we do not normally stock. Most of our artisans and fine artists do accept commissions and custom work, often for about the same price as a similar-sized artwork. We handle the entire process for you. Simply contact us and we will discuss what you are would like to have created specially for you. A 50% down payment is required on all commissions, custom orders and special orders of items.
BREAKAGE POLICY
If any or all of your order arrives damaged as a result of shipping, please save all packaging. Most carriers will want to inspect how it was packed to ensure that they are responsible for the damage incurred. Also have on hand your Abode invoice, and any information from the package itself, such as tracking and/or insurance numbers.
CREDIT CARDS
We accept MasterCard, Visa, and Discover for purchases in the gallery, over the phone, and via our online site. Additionally, we accept cash and checks in-person in our gallery.
MISSING ITEMS
If any of your order appears to be missing, please allow one-to-two business days for an additional shipment to arrive. All orders are packed and shipped at the same time, unless specifically requested otherwise; however, sometimes the shipment will be split during transit.
MISSING ORDERS
Most everything that leaves Abode carries some form of tracking number. If after two weeks your order has not arrived; please give us a call so we can start checking your order status and track the shipment. Typical shipping times to the continental U.S. are 5-10 days. Special boxing, cartoning and handling may increase these delivery times.
ON-SCREEN ARTWORK DISPLAY
We have attempted to maintain accurate coloration and depiction through the images we present of our artworks and gifts throughout the development of our site. However, we cannot guarantee that the colors you see on your computer monitor are accurate due to your monitor’s settings and the associated ambient light.
RUSH ORDERS
At this time, rush orders can only be taken by phone. With estimating delivery expense and timing, we simply believe it is better to directly talk with you so that we can ensure your desired result.
